FSFR covers approximately 240 square miles that encompasses the entirety of Simpson County including the City of Franklin. Our population is approximately 20,000 people. The area is largely agriculture but has sprawling residential areas and manufacturing parks along with 14 miles of Interstate 65. FSFR is transitioning to a 24/48 work shift. There will be 2 full-time firefighters on shift daily supplemented with 2 on-call personnel responding second out. The Chief and Deputy Chief will work a M-F daytime shift.
