The Simpson County Animal Shelter is managed by Friends of the Shelter who care for the animals and provide them with a loving home. Spay/Neuter is encouraged to prevent pet overpopulation. Low cost spay/neuter is offered by The Fix Foundation next door to the Animal Shelter located on Kenneth Utley Drive. The clinic number is (270)586-6600. The Fix Foundation clinic is open Tuesday – Thursday.
All animal complaints must be called into KSP dispatch by calling (270)586-8824.
Animal complaints are handled by both Simpson County Sheriff’s Office and the Franklin Police Department. Calls will be answered based on priority level.
Dogs – $95 Adoption Fee and includes the following spay/neuter, DA2PPV vaccine, Rabies vaccine (if pet is old enough), dewormer, flea prevention, heartworm test, microchipped.
Cats & Kittens – $75 Adoption Fee and includes the following spay/neuter, FVRCP vaccine, Rabies vaccine (if pet is old enough), FELEUK/FIV tested, dewormer, flea prevention and microchipped.
Those interested in adopting an animal must complete an adoption application. A copy of the application can be found below and must be completed and turned in to the Animal Shelter located on Kenneth Utley Drive. The adoption application will have to be approved through Friends of the Shelter before the animal is released.
